Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' first female artist on Dreamville Records by J. Cole. In the month of October Ari Lennox dropped her debut EP Pho. This was the moment that she was recognized. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox released her music online in 2012, when she dropped her Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. Ari Lennox continued posting her songs online, including her self-released single Bound. The song Sweat it featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21, 2015. Later that year her music circulated around the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some possible references for Rihanna. The news was released on December 8 she signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat is one of the songs she recorded with Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. On October 21, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017, in which she joined by EarthGang. She also appeared on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus along with Bas the label's co-founders. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The album's first single, Whipped Cream, from the album came out in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a a music video. She released her second single called Grampa on the 9th of November. She then released on the 13th of November two singles titled The No One and pedigree. She then appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on the 26th of February 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same title. In February of 2019, a music clip was released to promote the song. It already has more than 3 million views on YouTube in its debut week. In December 2018, she performed as an opening act for From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
